Terms & Conditions
A reservation forms a legal contract between The Claremont and the Guest for provision of and payment for accommodation as detailed. By checking availability you accept these terms and conditions. Reservations are made and accepted on the following terms:
Accommodation offered
The Claremont undertakes to supply the accommodation reserved on a bed and breakfast basis for the price given. Alterations, other than a free upgrade, will not be made without the approval of the person booking. The Claremont accepts no responsibility for guests booking un-suitable accommodation unless suitability was first checked by phone. The Claremont reserves the right to refuse or cancel a reservation considered inappropriate.
Cancellation Charges
Upon booking, you will be charged the appropriate room-rate for the first night of your reservation as a deposit. Deposits are non refundable.
Reservations can be cancelled with no penalty up to 3 days before the day of arrival. Where a cancellation is made later than 3 days before the day of arrival or by non arrival, the Guest will be required to pay a cancellation charge equal to the first night at the room rate quoted or to all nights at the room rate quoted for two or three night minimum weekend stays. Where a reservation is made using a debit/credit card, that card will be debited with the cancellation charge unless other payment methods are offered and approved. Where a room has been paid for in advance, payment will only be refunded if cancellation is received prior to 3 days before the day of arrival. Where a reservation is for a two or three night minimum, cancellation of only one or two of those nights will not be allowed and cancellations before or after arrival will be subject to payment in full. You are recommended to take out appropriate travel insurance.
Check-in and Check-out times
Guests can check-in from 1300 by appointment, latest check-in is 1800 unless by prior agreement. Check-out time is 1100. Check-out before or during breakfast may not be possible due to availability of staff, so please arrange to settle your account the night before if you wish to make an early departure.
Breakfast Times
Breakfast is served between the following times.
Monday - Friday from 08.00 - 09.00
Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays from 08.30 - 09.30
Payment of Booking
A valid debit/credit card is required to guarantee every booking - The Claremont will charge the appropriate room rate for the first night of the reservation as a deposit. Deposits are non refundable. Payment of a booking secured by debit/credit card guarantee will be required on departure.
Payment of Conference Bookings may be required up to 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Keys
Guests will be issued with front door and room keys on check-in. One set of keys will be issued per room. Additional keys may only be issued on payment of a £20 deposit. If keys are lost or not returned on departure, a replacement fee of £40 per set will be charged to the room account. In the case of debit/credit card bookings, the card of the person or agent responsible for the booking will be debited with the replacement fee unless other payment methods are offered and approved.
No Smoking
For the convenience and safety of all guests, The Claremont is strictly a non-smoking hotel. Guests who smoke in their room will be asked to leave, will be charged an additional night's room charge for dry-cleaning of soft furnishings from the room and may be charged for loss of income caused by the need to extensively ventilate the room before the next letting. We reserve the right to add these costs to a guest's account after departure. In the case of debit/credit card bookings, the card of the person or agent responsible for the booking will be debited with the costs, for which receipts will be provided, unless other payment methods are offered and approved.
House Rules exist to ensure the safety and quality of stay for all guests.
The reservation of a room is taken as a Guest's acceptance of these rules.
No more than three non-resident visitors in a room at any one time.
No one, other than the registered guests to be in a room after 01.00 or overnight.
No consumption of hot/cold takeaway meals in room.
No smoking anywhere on the premises.
Refusal to comply with these rules will lead to a guest being asked to pay for the room and leave.
