Our city continues to be a world leader when it comes to our Pride celebrations. The main summer event is still Europe’s largest free Pride event and in 2009 this will be held over the weekend of 1st August. Following on from the 2008 theme of “Pride Around the World” the 2009 theme, rather fittingly will be “Pride Beside the Seaside”
Before all this happens however, the city will host a whole week of Winter Pride, running from 7th to 15th March 2009 in venues all over Brighton & Hove. Keep an eye open for more details.

Not to mention Brighton Pride, held in August throughout the city, culminating in a huge party in Preston Park.Kemptown, known as Brighton’s “gay village”, is home to many of the city’s (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) attractions – from bars to boutiques, cafes to clubs and other gay owned and gay friendly hotels.
